The unit came from the wreckers, a totalled 2019 Tiguan R-line from Sydney, I'm sure the car was definitely from here. I got the seats from it too, which came with headrests with TVs on them, and a DVD of frozen. Poor kid is probably traumatised from that movie now.
Yep CP removed, everything works, including Carplay, radio, changing car features, reverse camera. It's just the maps that keeps freaking out.
I've heard mixed opinions on this (and even in this thread), but even the VW guides suggest to get a 32gb SDHC card, which is what I've done. This unit is definitely a Discover pro and people have suggested this worked in the past.
I do have a 8gb OEM card, the maps unfortunately don't fit. (Unless I can delete some countries that I never plan to drive my car to).
DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING or they simply wont work. I have used maps off the VW and Skoda site without trouble in the TIG for 4 years. Use a 64 gb card as the later maps were just a bit big for some 32gb cards I usually use Samsung Ultra and just hauled out whatever I didnt have in my dashcams at the time.
Last obvious question Are you using a real Windows PC or a DEVILS SPAWN Apple product. IF you are you need a specific unzipper as Macs put crap all over the place and real computers dont.
DONT USE A MAC end of story.
