That's right VW - fckoff with your Petrol Particulate Filter - we don't want this rubbish added to petrol vehicles.

Have a look at the I.D articles on volkswagen.de to see where the driver assistance tech is heading..

We will probably miss out on that too

I believe the 169kw engine is the same engine currently in the Golf GTI. It was updated from the 162kw to this 169kw. Albeit the GTI is now getting a 180kw block.

I can’t imagine there are any issues related to fuel quality. The 169kw is also the engine coming in the new Audi Q3 45 variant, so I think it would only be a matter of time before the Tiguans across the board carry this one.

People trying to order the 169kw motor in the UK are now being told the offer has now been withdrawn and they are now only taking EOI's to judge if it is worth importing. It appears from the German site that all Tiguans will get the new AID, the proof is in the eating but I can't see that it pays them to use two different dash's. It would seem sensible that VW can use the same dash right across the whole range of cars they sell and just configure it differently for each model and brand. It will save them serious amounts of money doing that.

EDIT: This has changed overnight and now it is avaliable in the UK. VW actually rang a customer to tell them the option was available, I can't imagine VWA doing that myself.

Then don't complain if you don't get choice of motors in cars.

PPF are just another thing to fail that adds no value except some wanker greenie agenda

PPF are not covered under warranty and if they fail because you only do city driving and no freeway driving they cost $6k to replace

Sure they do. That's what public policy is for.
