2017 Tiguan Sportline - Tigger73's 162TSI Sportline
2016 Scirocco R, stage 1, 205kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's Scirocco R Build
2013 Tiguan 155TSI, stage 1, 144kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's 155TSI Build
2011 Tiguan 125TSI, Stage 2+, 152kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's 125TSI Build
They’ve kept the Passat and Arteon at 206kw even though the Golf R has had slightly more (213kw) for some time. So Volkswagen has form in doing this and I suspect the Tiguan may stay where it is at 162.
If we assume the Allspace gives it away, there isn’t much to look forward to for the reg Tiggy in MY19
Seeing they are dumping the 162 in the Golf for emissions reasons it might be reasonable to assume the Tiguan will get the 180kw base motor that will be put in the Golf.
The big change for MY19 is the introduction of 7 seats. Isn’t that a big enough update for you guys???
Reality is I think the standard Tig will just have some relatively minor spec changes... maybe a new colour.

No, not really
When VW supply the 221kW / 380Nm engine in the Tiguan I will be satisfied, maybe (0–100 km/h in 4.9 s)
Golf R 1,984 cc 221 kW at 5,500-6,200 rpm 380 Nm at 1,800-5,500 rpm | 7-speed DSG | 0–100 km/h 4.9s

Just get a tune and the engine will have more power and much more torque than the stock R. Want more power than the stock R? You'd need a tune anyway and if you're that keen get the IS38 turbo and you're away. No need to wait for VW as they may never release this. Remember, it's not what they could or can do, it's all about where that model fits into their bigger picture.
