I've got the 132 tsi comfortline with both option packs, and the easy boot opening works well & consistently, even my kid can do it

Initially, I had trouble as I was randomly waving my foot side to side, and it would only activate randomly. However on closer reading of the manual (which is not exactly the best written I might add), it stated to basically use a kicking motion ie. forward & backwards under the mid part of the bumper. Once I used this method, it works like a dream.

As for closing, if you use the auto closing button (right hand one), it will start beeping and wait for you to move a certain distance away from the car, before closing.

Thanks Kacak. You've confirmed that we do in fact get this feature, and that if you know how to do it properly (forwards and backwards as opposed to side to side) then it should work OK. I'm glad - this is a feature that I'm looking forward to.

p.s. thanks for staying active on the forum. A lot of people don't bother once they've got their car

Did you have the key with you, when trying the easy opening boot feature?

Try reading pg 107 of the manual again, in conjunction with Fig 84.

Also check that the feature is enabled in the Car Settings of the Infotainment system?

Like I said earlier contact your dealer as there were a bunch of cars shipped with faulty switches. These were meant to get changed out before delivery, however it looks like a few have slipped through (including possibly dealer demos).

Very interesting forum- for anyone in the Brisbane area, 140TDI Highline with Rline pack are now available to look at at VW dealers- I will have a peek this weekend

Just spoke to a dealer at sydney city vw, and an updated production list for MY17 specs has been issued, with minor changes, but a big single difference.

That is, that with both the Passat, and new Tiguan, the optional Luxury Packs avaliable to the various modes being:

Passat ; 132tsi comfortline, 140tdi highline, Alltrack

Tiguan; all comfortline models


can now be ordered with the Luxury pack, without a sunroof if preferred!



this is a factory order only and stock will not be brought into the country without sunroofs unless specifically ordered.

Apparently VW aust have recognised some people dont like glass roofs and a compromise has been made.

however, dont necessarily think that the cost of the luxury packs will be less because of this. That is yet to be confirmed, or negotiated

It will be interesting to see how they price this. They've put a price on the sunroof due to Highlines having to pay $2000 extra for the sunroof. Logic and common sense would see consumers see that and expect $2000 off of the Luxury Pack price.

I think you and every other person that is looking at the Trendline/Comfortline would love the LED headlights. They look way better and add a real premium look.

It's just another way for VW to sell more Highlines/upsell to higher spec vehicles. I really wish they'd offer the R-line and LED headights as options on the Comfortline trim. I'd probably even consider buying one then.
