I am pretty sure the order needs to be accepted by VWA then a build date will be allocated to the car. Once a build date has been allocated then a VIN will be assigned.

Your dealership should be able to check the car status on the NADCON system and you can as well - just as soon as the car has been booked on a ship to get to us.

Just downloaded the Aus Tiguan brochure from the VW Aus website and brochure states the 162tsi.... "Trapezoidal exhausts left and right on the 162TSI Highline give it a purposeful appearance." Love the look of these exhaust ends on the R-Line

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering where you found it until realising it was under the brochures link not the Tiguan web page.

About to read through now - hopefully it will answer a few questions some have been unsure about.

Edit: No specs listed for the 162TSI, so not much help at all.

That is really interesting as I had understood that the fake twin trapezoid exhausts is only for the bi-turbo version that Australia is not getting ...

"the inner power of the Tiguan biturbo is reflected in the design. A clear distinguishing feature at the rear is the striking trapezoid tail pipes, which identify the Tiguan biturbo as the most powerful representative of its model series."

In case you are wondering why I said fake, see ~3.17min into this review on youtube

Ordered: 162TSI with the lot except metallic, wishing for Dynaudio

No specs in the back for the 162TSI, however there are a couple of references to it in the text - obviously it was in the brochure originally and then it got pulled at some point.

"Trapezoidal exhausts left and right on the 162TSI Highline give it a purposeful appearance."

"Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre 132kW TSI engine is for drivers who want added performance, while the top-spec 2.0-litre 162kW TSI shares an engine with the Golf GTI and offers outstanding power and torque delivery."

I think it needs to be read as 'exhaust-ends' i.e. the way the tips of R-line appear

I guess it varies per country. The 162TSI is the highest spec here, so that might be why they decided to feature it on that model. Funny that they have it on the highline, not just the R-Line pack. It is perhaps a bit lame that the right "tail pipe" isn't actually used but it still looks nice.
