This AFAIK is only with the Passats and Touaregs.
No, its the cameras like the Touareg , not just the sensors. The new tiguan will have the 4 camera's.

Is like to know if that kick stand towbar will be an option or standard on the highline model?

From what I understand that kick stand tow bar does not meet ADR's as it would be a winner in my books...would have loved it on mine but it's not available...so I am told

Towbars make interesting discussions. I did a fair amount of research , now and before about Towbars. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that towbars that are Euro compliant are also ADR compliant. They usually meet or exceed ADR's. However dealers of all descriptions don't want to import towbars when they can sourced locally for substantially less or and more markup. So on the face of the discussions, the Electronic Towbar "should" comply.

However, further in my research, its not what most Aussie buyers would want. In order to tow anything more then a simple box trailer most Aussies want to fit weight distribution devices. They cant be fit to these Euro style towbars (also issues with the vertical hitches).

That's why places like Hayman Reese do a roaring trade.

This also backs up the info I received when the towbar was included on my new Tiguan but still waiting to actually hear the final specs of the towbar.

From my research, the 162tsi and the BiTurbo R lines models receive the trapezoidal exhausts. So I would assume the 162tsi with R line in Australia will also receive this exhaust while the 140tdi will just receive the normal twin exhaust. When you use the VW German configurator you can spec each model and notice the different exhausts.

Interesting as I am in exactly the same boat (ordered the r-line)...got a feeling the car will beat the towbar

Did your research include confirmation from the dealer? I note that you've already ordered your R line, please don't take offense but wouldn't you have ensured you knew exactly what spec you were receiving prior to ordering? I note that there are a few unknown considerations for our Australian model so far which dealers can't answer and there is still no extensive documentation as yet...

I also require a tow bar.. I do hope there's no cutting or other unsightly butchery required to fit the "after market" model.....especially when the electric tow bar is so neat and unobtrusive when not in use!!

The problem is if you wait until you have all the information confirmed 100% from the dealer, you'll be taking delivery of your 162TSI R-line this time next year. Likely you'll have to wait until the 162TSI arrives and someone fits up a tow bar and confirms fitment.

No offence taken but I know I want the Tiguan R-Line so its a done deal for me. The exhaust ends do not determine if I buy the car, and agree with tigger73 that if you wait to long you can be waiting forever...
