As far as the media/infotainment systems go:

The base Trendline is spec'd as a "Composition Media 8" Infotainment System" which will look similar to this:

The Comfortline is fitted with a "Discover 8" Satellite Navigation System"

The Highline is fitted with a "Discover Pro 8" Satellite Navigation System" which looks the same, but not sure of the differences between the "Pro" and standard Discover unit as both are the same size touchscreen (8").

    I'd love to know too.

When CarAdvice did a preview back in April (2016 Volkswagen Tiguan Review | CarAdvice) they mentioned "The Highline will likely get leather seats, a 400-watt 10-speaker stereo...". Sounds like the Dynaudio Excite but it hasn't been mentioned since.

Went to my local dealer today and he too confirmed the later arrival of the Highline models. Said they still don't know what they're getting as far as float stock for September but they will have a demo model in the showroom in August (no idea what trim level).

OK a little update for those looking at possibly getting the manual... Along with the 140TDI and 162TSI models being delayed, the entry level 110TSI manual also looks like it may not be available at product launch.

This transmission variant is not in any of the approvals and I also seem to remember hearing along the ways that it was going to be available later.

Anyway so if you're after the entry level Trendline Tig in manual you'll have to be a bit more patient.

The other thing worth mentioning here is that the 110TSI auto models are fitted with the 6 speed DQ250 DSG from the Golf GTI/R instead of the 7 speed DQ500 in the rest of the range. Not that this is a big issue but one worth noting if you're tossing up between getting a 110TSI and a 132TSI Comfortline.

For the extra $4.5k between the 110TSI and 132TSI you get AWD, upgraded engine and upgraded DSG gearbox.

Happy to guinea pig again on the Gen 2 Tig, although if it's offered in the Highline, it's virtually a given that it'll work!

In fact, have one lined up already if I go for a Comfortline or will sell it if I end up going for the Highline!

Have decided and signed up today for a GLA250 instead.

Accordingly, will be selling this steering wheel and just wanted to give my fellow Tig members the first dibs at this.

This will effectively give your Comfortline (Steering Wheel), the flappy paddle upgrade to a Highline!

PM me if interested, otherwise will post up in the proper sale section.

That's a pity, sad to leave the Tig fold? GLA250 an interesting choice .... I've been looking at a GLC250 and X3 as well (both 2.0 petrol turbo as the tunes out now are comparable with a 2.0T VW tuned). Pricing is quite similar too .... which says a lot about where the R-Line equipped 162TSI Highline is priced ......

I was thinking this exact thing the other day. VW are aiming too high - isn't that what Audi is for in the VAG line up?

Similar? A fully optioned 162tsi is $60-$63k drive away. A GLC will be $75K at least before any options won't it?

I too am looking at X3's even it's a near new second hand but that too will be above $60k.

GLC250 with corporate discount was about $71K (with no options and even less if you buy at the right time and discount fairy smiles on you), but that includes 3 years free servicing etc .... so yes, a bit more but then you have a MB and not a VW .....
