They can take the premium off if I buy two in one hit lol.
All joked aside, the new Tig is one of a number of cars I am looking at but the more I read and see, the more I want a black R-Line. Grrrr
Well given the R-line is only available as an option for the top of the line 162TSI/140TDI models, expect these to be $50k+ on the road.
Luckily the only manual is in the base model
I did speak to one of the dealers recently and they were saying there was going to be a "price premium" on the new Tiguan. So reading into this there's going to be a few thousand more than current model.

They better be careful with pricing and not get too carried away, it's a very competitive marketplace and the economy is not exactly going great guns! I'm keen on a Highline diesel but as a frequent flyer at my local VW dealer will be screwing him down in price and wont be paying silly $$ 😉
Anything further on your earlier Intel that the Highline models would be delayed in Oz?

Pricing hasn't been released yet but the suggestion from the sales guy was there was likely to be an increase over the current model. The RRP for the new model will be out in the next month or so. Until pricing is released it's all just speculation.
Highline models will definitely be later than the initial launch. There are no local approvals for either 140TDI or 162TSI (or 110TSI manual) and I have heard that worldwide production/manufacture of vehicles with these higher output engines is not starting until at least July.

We had the active display in our rental A4 in Germany. I'll be honest - not a fan. I like traditional gauges and found that most of the stuff on the screen was very gimmicky and uneccessary. Why do I need a full size 3 D cutaway view of the car with no actual information being displayed? You canof course select different views, but the alternates offered no benefits over a regular dash.
The ONLY saving grace was having the sat nav displayed between the gauges, with a full moving map. It's step up from the existing display in my GTI, but when I use Google Maps on Android Auto almost exclusively for navigation, it's useless to me again. Unless they integrate AA on the active display. Doubt it'll happen though.
Perhaps we would all do well to remind ourselves where our eyes should be all the time and it's not staring at gimmicky dashboards or geeky add ons inside the car. I am tiring of watching vehicles around me wandering across lanes, into the hard shoulder and adjacent cycle lanes whilst carefully monitoring an array of in-car displays.
Take a trip in a modern taxi and see how much crap they carry internally - almost as much as a highway patrol car!

Hey all,
Normally posting in the Golf section but got this from the dealership and thought it might be of some peoples interest. The new Tiguan it set to leap the SUV market in Oz and should be around 4Q of 2016. The R Line looks so awesome. I've been tempted myself to step away from the Golf and grab one of these bad boyz myself.
I noticed that Oz doesn't get the 12" Dash digital display which is a massive drag, I don't know why Oz continues to get the lower spec'd version of EU.

And yes, we will be getting the digital display in one of the option pack.

Shame the R-line is the only car with chassis control. I don't want 20s on an SUV. I wonder if I could swap them for someone's 17s.
