What's your view on the ride comfort so far? Thanks
I came out of a GTI with 18s so my reference point maybe different to yours

The comfort suspension setting works well for low speed stuff around town, but is too soft above 80.

Normal mode works well most of the time, I'm trying an individual mode out now where I've set a mix of sport and normal settings and I like it.

Having the tyre pressures correct helps too, when I picked the car up they were all over the place which made the ride worse than it needed to be.

Sportline is a great package, definitely a sweet spot and you should be able to drive one away for under $50k if you don't want a sunroof.

I'd like to know other people's experience when using the different drive modes.

I often run the car in Eco mode, but every time I turn the engine off, the drive mode will default back to normal Drive when I start the car again. But all the other settings remain in Eco mode.

Same thing happens if I am in sport mode. The drive mode will revert back to D after a restart while steering/suspension remain in Sport.

Does the same thing happen to everyone else? Is annoying having to choose your mode again every trip.

    I have a 162tsi R-Line.

Have you tried saving your preferences to your car profile and the key? It should then remember all settings including seat, radio etc.

The drive select is separate from the user profile I think, the car just reverts back to normal D mode whenever you restart the car, no matter which mode you left it in.

Wow.. just wow.. picked up our my18.5 162tsi with DAP, roof and R-line pack today. took it home to fiddle with all the options and customise it to the way I like.. found android auto and mirror link not as intuitive as I expected with android auto looking very low res on the discover pro unit (have found the wireless connection with all the standard VW options to be the best and most fluid option).

With a quick shower we were out for our first drive to catch up with friends for dinner and was amazed at the lane assist and ACC and how fluid all of this felt. Accelerating is exciting and it felt really easy going through corners with all the assistance.

Night time fell and the car impressed me even further with all its mood lighting internally as well as the assisted lighting (I couldn't stop steering left and right to watch the lights move).

Had our passenger point out the exhaust crackle whilst sitting in the back which got me even more excited and I spent the next 10 minutes trying to replicate it but couldn't!

I can't be happier with our selection and can't wait to get back out and drive it!

Had a fairly decent drive today... is mostly heavy rain through some windey roads... she didn’t skip a beat, stuck to the road like a glove.

Have to be careful when testing the ACC stopping behind a stationary car.
The radar has a detection distance of up to 200 metres (havent confirmed this). So if a moving car that was anything up to 200m infront of you has stopped then the ACC radar will bring the car to a full stop behind it.

While waiting stationary at the lights with ACC activated (waiting for traffic to proceed) you still have to be alert as a rear end collision is still possible.
While following behind a car ACC brought my car to an almost stop behind it as we approached the stationary cars at the lights. I think my speed was about 5-10km/h and just about to stop. I always try to be alert and monitor it carefully as I am aware of its "limits" flaws. In this one instance as we came to a near stop the car infront decided at the last second to not stop and move away into the left lane as there were less cars there. when ACC detected that the "guide" car infront of me had left our lane it hit the gas to target 60 km/h that my ACC was set to, lucky I was on the ball this time and immediately hit the brake to disarm ACC otherwise there was only 2 car lengths between me and the next car infront. Now maybe the Emergency Brake feature would have braked for me at the last minute? who knows? Not something I would like to test.
Just thought I would share my adventures .
I still love how ACC works on the VW, much better than Mazda anyway.

    Holding acc down hill

I was hoping my new tig would maintain set speed going down hill and gladly it did not disappoint , not so much by braking but changing down gears to hold set speed. Worked perfectly
