Can anyone advise the cosmetic differences between MY17 and MY18? Also, anyone with MY18s what was your 'build' date and are your plates listed as '2018' ones when you do a registration lookup?
Think I'm being shafted on my order...
Mine is a late Oct 17 build MY18, complied 01/18. Shows up in rego search as a 2017.
Cosmetic differences I'm not 100% sure, but mine has the different infotainment glass as someone else mentioned, two USB ports in the front and a USB port in addition to the 12V charging port under the climate control at rear of the centre console for the back seats.
If you want me to look at anything in particular let me know and I'll take some pics.
Congratulations on the new car Dan. My local dealer doesn’t have a sportline yet so I haven’t driven one. It looks like a great package but my one reservation centres around the ride comfort with the 20” wheels. I know it has adaptive chassis control which will help. What's your view on the ride comfort so far? Thanks
I came out of a GTI with 18s so my reference point maybe different to yours![]()
The comfort suspension setting works well for low speed stuff around town, but is too soft above 80.
Normal mode works well most of the time, I'm trying an individual mode out now where I've set a mix of sport and normal settings and I like it.
Having the tyre pressures correct helps too, when I picked the car up they were all over the place which made the ride worse than it needed to be.
Sportline is a great package, definitely a sweet spot and you should be able to drive one away for under $50k if you don't want a sunroof.

I'd like to know other people's experience when using the different drive modes.
I often run the car in Eco mode, but every time I turn the engine off, the drive mode will default back to normal Drive when I start the car again. But all the other settings remain in Eco mode.
Same thing happens if I am in sport mode. The drive mode will revert back to D after a restart while steering/suspension remain in Sport.
Does the same thing happen to everyone else? Is annoying having to choose your mode again every trip.
I have a 162tsi R-Line.
Have you tried saving your preferences to your car profile and the key? It should then remember all settings including seat, radio etc.
