This is a weird one but does everyone’s passenger seatbelt lock have a felt side (faces the the driver) but the drivers one doesn’t (which would face the passenger)?
Ha I don’t get it
It is there to stop any noise from it rubbing against the centre console. The drivers side doesn’t have it because it should always be done up (or at least in theory) where as the passenger side wouldn’t necessarily be done up. Hope that makes sense??

Yep, makes sense! Thanks for letting us know. I really like some of the small things they have thought of with this car. Things like the little catch trays next to the rear seats which do a good job of catching things that 1 year old drops like his dummy, food etc.
Not too many negatives with the car. If I had to come up with a couple, I do agree that the car does suffer from wind noise at highway speeds. Can be a bit annoying on long trips on the highway. Automatic wipers can sometimes be tricky to have moving at the right speed also.

I wonder if it was part of the customs search of the cars looking for things inside the linings?

On further checks it looks like it's consistent across Golf, Passat, Arteon etc. What have I learned?? never smuggle anything in a VW - Border Force check every one!!
