Strange. Yeah, maybe take it to the dealer then. I've never had memory seats before either, they're awesome. It's cool watching the seat change position when my wife unlocks the car

Silly question but which setting is the 'closest' setting is it when the bar is one line or when it has multiple lines? I find the distance to the front car is abit too far with ACC

Received my VIN from the dealer yesterday and have confirmed my tiggy 132TSI + DAP will land in Brisbane on 5th of May! How long should I expect for it to get through customs and be sorted by the dealership? 2 weeks? More?
    What's been everyone's experience?

I've got problems with the memory seats too.

It was all set up, drivers profiles and keys set for my wife and I. When I first set it up I got the gongs when I pushed the memory button on the seat and they moved as they should with a change in driver profile. Now nothing. I can't even set the seat memory at all any more. Clearly a fault. It seems this may be a common problem.

VCDS scan when the computer charges up.

    Ok.

VCDS showed up that the seat needed initialisation in all axes of movement.

Good news is that initialisation can be achieved easily with VCDS.

It drove the seat through its full range of movement in all axes over a 30 second or so period. Seat memory now works as advertised.

If anyone else has this problem it's either a trip to the dealer or a VCDS fix.

The closest distances is when the bar is a single bar, closest to you. Makes more sense when you bring up the assistance systems display on the AID.

Cool thanks. Also is it not possible to zoom in on the AID on the navigation?

I just picked it up today.

    Drives a dream.

Tyres looked used and I had to question it since they were blackened but I was reassured that they are new.

For what it's worth, I did have good dealings with salesman, Paul. Nice guy.

Now to get my head over all the customisations.

Bear in mind that I'm an internet shopper and so these are literally my first impressions (I've never even sat in one before!):

It looks fantastic. I never liked the old Tiguan but this looks classy. I was worried that the black plastic skirting (for us non-R-Line folk) would look crappy, but it's fine.

It's comfortable and spacious inside. Lots of storage compartments (possibly too many as the myriad of storage spaces means you have to look in a myriad of places to find that thing you can't find). Nice heavy doors.

The info display and dashboard display (forgot the proper names for both) are big, bright and clear.

Pairing it with my bluetooth Android was a breeze and the sound system sounded fine.

Active Lane Assist works better than expected. It doesn't 'bounce' you from one side of the lane to the other, but it seems to hug and follow the lane marking that it helped you not drift across. So it's not as far removed from Adaptive Lane Guidance as I thought it would be. It does provide you with progressively more severe warnings if you keep your hands off the wheel though!

There are two things I found really finicky:

    - Waving your leg under the rear bumper to open the boot. Both myself and the dealer had trouble getting it to activate reliably.

    - Voice recognition on the sat nav wasn't great. I had to speak quite slowly and it's pretty slow to recognise what I said. And the voice they've used sounds like the female version of Marvin the Paranoid Android. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but hopefully the Google Maps integration is good and so I'll be able to use that instead. Unfortunately, Google Maps can't be displayed on the dashboard.

And there's a few features that I'm really confused about because the dealer told me something different from what I've learned here on this forum. This is what he told me today. I haven't had a chance to verify any of this:

    - It does recognise Speed Signs at the side of the road.
    - It doesn't auto-dip headlights for oncoming traffic.
    - The driver settings memory can't be coded to the key (you have to select from one of three profiles when you get in the car).
    - The driver settings memory doesn't remember the seat position, which seems odd to me.

FYI The dealer also told me that they're expecting traffic warnings to become available as a software update within 6-12 months.

EDIT - One more thing. The manual is well written but rendered fairly impotent in many cases. It describes all possible features (e.g. Traffic Jam Assist) regardless of whether these features are available in your model/market. It tells you to ask your dealership about what features are available/unavailable.
ALL vehicles owners manuals say to check with dealers about which features are in their market.

I have been waiting 18 days now since my car arrived at the docks. I am expecting 3 weeks so I should get the word this week, so that's a bit of a guide for you. End of the day depends where your car is on the line to get what's got to be done.
