If you don't have any luck here, try asking on OzAudi. The VCDS cable works on all VAG vehicles but the Audi guys seem more into VCDS.

IsDon is correct - lot's of guys on the ozaudi site with VCDS skills. I'm assuming they would be as willing to help fellow VAG owners.

just read one of the other threads and was wondering if DAB+ is a software or a hardware thing on the Tiguan? Particularly for Highline models...

I think it is both as DAB+ uses a separate aerial to the analogue radio.

DAB+ radio is one of the strangest omissions for the new model. Not sure why they didn't include it as standard in a modern car.
To stay on topic - it must be hardware as well. I poked around in VCDS and couldn't enable it as there is no module.

VW MIB2 Discover Pro uses a hardware modification to allow DAB+. The antenna setup should be already in place.

No, it means you need additional parts inside of the main unit. The DAB+ receiver.
