I constantly have to re-wire fuel pumps, delete OEM pressure relief valves, or spend several hours troubleshooting their clapped together builds. Then at times I'm using workshop tools from the shop that's hiring out their dyno to me and I often pay back in beers as a thank you.

Power figures quoted by manufacturers are on an engine dyno, where as what you get from dynos are power produced at the wheels.
When you factor in mechanical losses a 162kW might translate to like 140kW (~15% drivetrain loss is pretty standard), not to mention often workshops/tuning shops can trick the weatherstation by increasing the temperature to "adjust" readouts to fulfill customer expectations lol...
Remember a dyno is just a tool, best way to determine performance is simply a 1/4 drag strip.
It would be interesting to have a Tiguan Drag day and have some of the tuned Tigs do some 1/4 mile runs......

I am fortunate to be part of the crazy family suv movement.....a bunch of guys who have previously driven JDM or other sporty cars.... who have a passion for cars and speed, but need to balance this, with functional family requirements. By day, the Tig is a people mover soccer mum SUV, and by night with ESC off, DCC in sport and manual paddles engaged it is the sleeper Tig. If Bruce Wayne needed to start a family and give up his Batmobile, he would drive an IS38 Tig R Line...in pearl black of course...

Would be interesting if you guys could organise a Tiguan only drag day/night. I might even make the trek down to VIC for it and maybe sneak in a few cheeky mods lol.

Have the mod bug, but don't want to do anything as there's 5 year manufacturer's warranty on it.

I still have my sietbok JDM car at home, it works quite well as shelving for buckets, gardening equipment.

Roof is completely scratched up and the other year I reversed the car into the house not paying attention and forgetting that there aren't parking sensors on it 😂

But.. It's fast, it's so fast I can't even use it and I haven't even properly tuned it either. Just pumped in some soft timing figures and 1.5bar of boost. Ordered a GTX3576R Gen2 for it though lololol.

That sounds like a monster! You should try your hand at tuning vdubs, if there was another competitive offering out there, you might be able to open up a whole new world of big turbo tuning for the crazy SUV fans.

I've been doing heaps of prodding around but there aren't any options out there that allow you to do your own tuning besides etuner, and even that doesn't have much information.

Seems all the available tunes are just in "stages" you do x mod, you get y tune, there's no full tuning suite available OR accessible by someone like myself.

Where as in the JDM world I've got licenses for EvoScan, Nistune.

Hopefully there will be a full suite that allows access to all tables like MHD for BMW, happily would buy it and tune cars for fun.

... said no one before “SUVs” were available.

    Mk2 Tiguan Tuning

I’m currently a hatchback driver but I have no doubt I’ll end up in a Tig (modded of course) one day.
