yeah I was tempted to go MRC tune with a V4 turbo, but its a bit pricey, I know i could push about 300kw on the crank with a apr tune but I really enjoy the jb4 with the bluetooth dongle that I use for map switching, my daily Map only makes about 265kw and 490nm, ill post a pic later, need to figure this forum thing out still, lol

I enquired about the JB4, they said it wouldn’t work with the Tiguan even though it has the same engine as the MK7 gti. Are you running the MK7 golf maps?

I've got a JB4 installed in my Tig, absolutely no issues running it. If you have doubts, email George at Burger Tuning (who makes the JB4) - he is incredibly helpful.

You can use the pre set maps (4psi or 5psi over stock) or make your own boost curve with map 6. Just to tune to Air Fuel Ratio numbers and the fuel trims as the JB4 does not add fuel or timing. Can do road logs or tune on a dyno.

Even 2psi added to the EA888 motor wakes them up.

Auto instruct in Melb sell them, but 2nd hand ones come up often as people buy them to start then once you have done all the bolt on's, you'll get more power with a custom tune.

Ive had my JB4 for over a year and its great. Turn it up when needs, back to stock for the Mrs and remove the JB4 unit for dealer work.

But does timing drop with additional boost? or does it sit on the last load point and just apply the same timing? If you're not dropping timing you're going to hit MBT or nose over it very fast and hit knock territory

Have a read of this mate.

Uses stock timing, max I've seen is about 11 from the logs

What boost are you running? Is there more in the IS38 or is the stock cooler and fuel system need to be beefed up?

    Hi Inasnt
I haven’t measured it, however I have been told the IS38 tune maxes out at 27 PSI.

In terms of additional upgrades, it’s stock IC and fuel pump. I don’t drive the car hard, in summer (stock IC) it may be the archieles heal, but I’ll deal with that when it’s an issue. In terms of fueling APR were R&D ethanol flex fueling, I was hoping they’d do an E40 tune for the IS38. Fingers crossed something gets released soon.

I was eyeing the IS38 hybrids TTE610R, snail turbo and DBV2 and Big Turbos BOSS500 and EFR7163 It would be totally nuts to have that on a Tiguan!!!! Maybe you could be the first ?

I'm a mech engineer so I like to see all the numbers and details.. Would have been good to see boost, a/f l, intake temps and the powercurve.... You need to get you tig on a dyno..

Not sure what I will do next with the Tig, might sell the wifes merc and pass the Tig onto her and I get something like an RS3...
