Totally acknowledge what you are getting with the OEM option and pricing. I'd be happy with a cheaper aftermarket alternative if that existed in Sydney. Thats what I am struggling to find (1. if it was possible given FATIZ and 2. who outside of VW can do it)

Would you mind sharing the contact details for the independent in Brissy you mentioned?

VW Key cutting and Coding - North Brisbane - All VWs

They came to me and cut my OEM key I paid $500 for from VW and then supplied, cut and coded a second key for $480. Bear in mind I already paid $500 for an OEM key from VW so $980 all up

They quoted me $600 to do both non-OEM keys and that was with me having no keys at all. Bought an auction car without any keys ... lesson learnt

BTW I had another guy try, but could not program anything beyond 2017.
