Interested in your thoughts on the Mk7.5 exhaust... and also the wife's opinion. Did you do a res delete at the same time?

How did you go about getting the wheel arch trims colour coded? Paint? Wrap?

I don't mind the blacked out grille on the white car but not sure about blacking out the grille on a black car.

Highly recommend the mods - its completely changed my view of (an already) handsome car to one that I am very fond of now!

Will put my hand up for grocery runs, for sure

I kept the res. But I've also taken the valves away, so its a res + permanently opened valves. Farts on upshift above 3k is very pronounced, and the tone has dropped to a deep rumble on idle (just like the Golf R). I've only heard the car from the inside whilst driving, but I know the Tiguan is also good with sound deadening. Few folks have commented about the big difference in tone from the outside. And then you have the backend looks...c'mon!

WRT wheel arches - I pulled them out and had them professionally colour matched. More $$ but I wanted it to look as OEM as I could. I also avoided the wrap option as colour matching is much harder (esp on Oryx) and also didn't want to deal with the peeling if I could help with that.

Are you close to doing the exhaust upgrade?

Wheel arches look good. How did they prepare the plastic? Did they fill/sand the plastics first to remove the textured finish or just paint straight on and end up with orange peel effect?

Exhaust upgrade will be happening after I finish tuning - which has taken a bit longer than first planned.

Thanks. Yes, they sanded and filled to prep with 3 layer paint on top. Zero orange peel - as smooth as the rest of the car. With the arches colour coded, the width appears slightly wider with the r-line arch flare. Only thing now is that it could do with some 20mm spacers but I'm not going there.

Sounds good. How much did that set you back?

I have a Sportline with grey plastic trims all around so it would be considerably more work.

$100 per arch. I thought was reasonable even with the Sydney tax.

Weather was too good not to take a few snaps. She’s looking a little muscular in some angles:

Making me jealous of your white Wolfy! If you take the photo shot at ground level it will look even more muscular Mk2 Tiguan pictures of your car

I took this photo next to a white R-line (sun was not in the best shot for a photo I’m afraid....)
