    Mirror extenders for towing caravan

Howdy folks, am picking up a caravan this weekend. I've had a brake controller installed, and have the factory tow kit (updated to 200kg down weight). The caravan has a 12 pin plug, whereas the Tiguan has a 7 pin, will take a 12 pin socket with me and wire it in on Sat morning (no free time to do it before i go - cutting it fine)

I need to buy mirror extenders, wondering if anyone has experience with mirror extenders that fit a gen 2 Tiggy? I'm a bit tight on time, and am driving from 6hrs up the cost to collect the van, departing tomorrow arvo and returning Saturday.

These look good:Haigh Adjustable Dual View Towing Mirror | BCF

And a bloke on a caravan forum's selling these: Avan Club of Australia - For Sale

Anyone have experience to know if the BFC mirrors will fit?

Mate, don’t skimp on mirrors - the wrong ones will cause you endless problems, the right ones will simply work well every time.

personally - I would recommend these: CaravansPlus | Milenco Aero3 Extra Wide Towing Mirrors - Pair

    Milenco are a great mirror.

Thanks Doc, i'll check them out. have you used them on a Tiguan?

The BCF mirrors have an attachment top and bottom, might result in a more secure fit?

no, haven’t used hem on a tig. However have used them on a Navara d40, BMW X5, and a patrol y62.

quality mirrors Ike the milenco have good fittings - I never experienced any loosening or anything like that. It’s my experience that some of the cheaper mirrors need more mounting points because none of the individual mounting points are very good.

No dramas mate. You won’t be disappointed.

Caravans are funny thing - obviously they love emptying your wallet.... there are plenty of things you can buy at a decent price, but some things are worth spending the money on for better quality. Water hoses, power leads....a couple/few years wear and tear and you replace them - so buy them on special or more economically priced options. But mirrors.....I have a long and hateful relationship with them. Spent the first years of my caravanning ‘career’ getting pi55ed off by shaking mirrors, bad mounts etc.... never again

This is an AUSTRALIAN forum so we probably cant do that as we have vastly different models here and our steerignwheels are on the other side LOL
