Nah, didn't work with the previous map either (USB and SD).
    Same error message.

Every time I plug in the USB or SD card the unit says "software update available", but when I try to update the MyPOIs, I get the same error message.
Feels like either the update is somehow not enabled in my unit or because there is no internal memory (HDD or SSD) in my Discover Media it cannot update. My unit has the map SD card and reads it from there.

We have the same Navigation database and map however my Device version is older than yours, you have the newer unit. I would only suggest trying the various speedcamera file versions people have already uploaded.
As you are getting the message "software update available" this means that the unit is detecting the initial config file (metainfo2.txt) on the root of your USB/SD, the problem is when it reads (this file?) and/or the other config files in the sub folders (MIB2DE, MIB2HIGH and MIB2TSD) as they contain the details of the files to use in this update package. Good Luck. Make sure you dont have any hidden files on the root of your USB/SD card.

I tried already 4-5 different versions.
For a moment I was thinking that maybe this function is disabled in my unit and wanted to ask some VCDS expert to have a look.

When you put your USB in and went to the menu of updating POIs, after clicking on the Update button, did it show you the sources to choose from: USB, SD, etc or it went straight and updated it?
And just to confirm, the USB or SD has to be formatted as FAT32, right?

When I insert the USB and go to the map settings Update POIs, after clicking Update button it automatically scans the USB and does NOT ask me for source. In SD slot 1 I have the map data, in SD slot 2 I have my music files, so I used USB for updating. Fat32 YES.

Uploading Speed Camera / POIs - Tail of Woe - VW Pulled the Update Site Again | SEATCupra.net Forums
I followed the link, downloaded the POInspector software, read the manual, imported the speed camera POIs, copied the data onto an SD card and finally my Discover Media unit could see the POIs! Finally!!

Can you give more details on this? I've also been trying for a long long time on my Discovery Media unit without success. Is this software free to download and use? Thanks

It is free to download, but you can only import 50 map points with it. You have to donate 9 Euros to the developer to unlock the software completely. FYI: there are more than 600 speed camera map points in Australia.

I uploaded my files here, try if it works for you, unzip it and copy the PersonalPOI folder and the metainfo2.txt file onto the SD card:

    Just a moment...
Just joined the forum to let you know that I downloaded and installed your uploaded files successfully into my MIB11 without any problems. It even uninstalled my out of date old POI files. Many thanks Pete.

Just wondering if the POIs that you used included NSW by chance or all states. My POIs were extremely out of date and redundant.
Also where were you able to obtain the POIs online and how up to date they were.

My file is including all the fixed speed cameras in Australia, more than 630 map points, I downloaded it from poidb.com, which should have the latest updates.
I am looking now to update it with traffic light speed cameras. I have the unlocked software, I donated 9 Euros to the developer

Just added all the cameras in Australia to this version (fixed, red light, point to point, etc) and replaced the black camera icon with a blue one to better match with the existing icons in the navi. 1912 map points altogether. And added POIs for Mcdonald's.

This is for Discover Media units only. There is another post later for Discover Pro units.
