    Lost Wheel Lock Nut Key

    Hi all!

*Resolved - my normal dealer can remove with master set. Seems the other guys either didn't have a set or gave unreliable info.

I need to remove my wheels urgently but have lost lock key. My normal dealer (John Hughes Perth) who likely lost it are too busy to even return my calls. Tried another dealer and they say they have to be forcibly removed as they don't have any kind of spares. I have searched online and it seems to be a type 524 from photos. Can anyone please confirm if it is true they have to be forced off or I can get a knock off version TIA

If I remember correctly there are only 8 variations and are available from dealers so the Parts dept should be able to help Or try here Skoda and VW are compatible
Set of Safety Wheel Bolts with Adapter Škoda 000071597C I got stuff from them 6 days to the door FEDEX is a bit exee though I got one off my caravan by a tyre shop guy who had a nut eaze out Is a socket with teeth that grip to undo it.. Might be your best bet at Bob Jane or similar

DO NOT TRY TO CHISEL IT OFF OR YOU WILL RUIN WHEEL RING AROUND TYRE SHOPS TO SEE IF THEY HAVE NUT EASE OUTS

Okay finally got through to my normal dealer and they have a master set and can remove and put normal nuts on. I'll leave this post here for anyone with similar issue in future

You can then buy a new key and keep them for safety reasons

Was the first thing I did when I bought my Tiguan and then the Kamiq. certainly cheaper than a set of Tiguan rims at over a grand each at the stealers or about $400 second hand

From memory ,I bought set of wheel set screws & key from the local VW dismantler specialist for a Polo. It wasn't very expensive as these have been around for at least 20 years & probably a slow seller.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

I solved this problem by replacing the bolts and caps with shiny chrome ones long ago. But then I park in a garage and don't drive all that much... that and my wheels aren't special.

Are you in an area where you think it's a problem/possibility?
