Looking to buy an used Allspace - Any recommendation?

I hope you're all doing well.
With the family growing, I'm in the market for a used Tiguan Allspace and need a 7-seater.

I'm considering a 2018/2019 model. I really like the diesel VW engines, but I've noticed there aren't many available for sale.
Do you have any recommendations on which engine to consider?

Also, are there any specific things I should double-check before purchasing this model?

Any known issues I should be aware of?

I recommend the diesels as the wife and I have one each. They are considerably more economical than the petrol engined ones, especially the 162 variant that is quite heavy on fuel based on feedback from a couple of workmates. They are using 11+ L/100 around city driving but this improves below 8.5L/100 on the highway readily.

By comparison we are getting around low 7s in the City and 6 or lower on highway runs. I just did a round trip the Bendigo from Melbourne for work and got 5.3L/100 for the 400k !

If you could extend yourself and get a 2021 onwards Elegance as they have the matrix LED IQ drive system and are much better in my opinion.

If you are using it as a city runaround DONT buy a diesel. The only good way to run them is get them hot and keep them hot. Running 5 mins down to the shops and back is not good for them. I had a Passat TDI and only used it if trip was 30 mins or more each way. My Tiguan 163Rline did about 11/13 around town shopping and 9 on a trip but then I dont drive slow on the highway. I prefer get up and go over economy so I just put up with it.. Was a lovely car to drive. Can have adaptive headlights enabled if not already plus heaps of other stuff quite easily Did 36 to mine
