Have used Remsa pads in my merc recently, bit less dust than OEM, DBA400's on my MK6 R.

Have used DBA5000 and pads from 'Racebrakes' on my Skyline, brakes did not work when cold though..

Problem with really good race pads are generally they need some form of "warming up" before they are effective.

Unfortunately there isn't a full all rounder pad that's great on the street and also on the circuit, but the closest I've come to that are Project MU HC+ (not HC800, these are made in Thailand NOT Japan). Which are a 0-700 degree pad, there's the Project Mu Club Racer which is a bit higher up on the heat range, however they chew rotors, squeal, and also chew rotors.

Would be keen to use Elig pads on the Tiguan most likely next year. I've semi-destroyed the stock pads already lol

Your stock pads wont last another 12 months, change them now and provide a review of the Elig pads so I can use them if any good in the next 6-12 months.

Might have too soon, the pads are a bit **** after I did Old Pac Highway (all 3x stages) and back too. Kept up to 2x motor bikes and a built S13 (that I tuned that makes 270kW at the rears).

Do you like? I put Bremtek Tradeline (something like that) on the Accord and I'm not a fan. The just don't seem to grab well or have feel.

How hard would it be to grade to R brakes?
    Can be done?

I upgraded my brakes to golf r from the stock setup looks great as i got the calipers painted candy apple gold before geting them installed used ate ceramic pads
In normal driving no change much better when driven hard i find the ate pads preformed well on the reafton spur the gti in front of me after the run had smoke pouring off his brakes and i could briefly touch my calipers without getting a burn no fade at all
I was pushing him hard the whole way
Not a cheap option but worth it

It's an easy swap and plenty have done it but it will add ~10kg in unsprung weight per side. The main positive is that it's OEM.

Personally I'd go with a 4 or 6 pot setup. Lighter and no slider pin issues.

How much bigger are they actually? They have a large cover making them look bigger and better than they actually are.

I've been talking to Elig Australia and they advised they've revised the brake pad offering for the new stock they've got in.

The Sports range has now a different compound which behaves similarly to Project Mu HC800 (which you guys know are a fantastic pad, low rotor wear and very good co-efficient ).

The new Elig Sports (SB539) is now rated from 0 to 700 degrees Celsius, which makes it perfect street use with some track work, which i doubt many of us will do.

I will be getting a set to replace the current OEM brake pads in the next couple of months (most likely after my 1st service).

    Will report back!
