    Interesting Video On TJA/ACC/Lane Assist

I watched this video YouTube and something struck me as odd, only once in the 3.5 minute video (at the 2:13) mark does the lane assist warning come up on the dash. He has either changed the time out period, is applying steering out of sight of the camera or VW have altered the time out.

    Check that one:

Drivers Reaction Adjustment (Car must be fitted with Camera)
Adjusts the sensitivity in which the car will alert the driver due to lack of steering input.

    Select Control unit A5 (camera)
    Security access
    Enter unlock code 20103
    Adaptation
Select channel deactivation threshold driver activity
Value adjust accordingly Default: medium options: early, middle, late

Yes, I asked that question a short while ago, does it change the time interval or the sensitivity to the steering input that the steering sensor needs. If it is the time interval what changes result in what and has anyone here done it? No one seemed to be sure, one reply said the same as you but did not answer the question when I asked.

Have you done it to confirm what happens as sensitivity seems the wrong metric when referring to time interval

I checked and I couldn't find this adaptation channel in A5 module

If you drive on a highway straight like that video you wont have the warning.

The warning comes up as the steering assist sensing your hand are not on the wheel ie no weight on the wheel.

As soon as the wheel turned the warning came up in the video.

You do get the warning on straight sections.

If the steering senses no input from the driver it comes on at 13 seconds whether the road is straight, secondary or a multi lane freeway. I have used it extensively over the last 12 months as I live outside the metro area and it gets used every time I go anywhere in the car.

Confirmed. Does not matter where the wheels are pointing, or whether the road is straight or winding. It's based on lack of adjustment or resistance from the driver to the steering wheel, that the warning comes up.

Still leaves the question as to what the OBD2 coding adjustment actually does?

It doesn't need much to avoid the warning signal.. drove from the gold coast to Brisbane just using my thumb.. would be nice to not have to "check in" every 13 seconds
