I found this thread about the VWR R600 that mentions this drain hose and one way valve at the end of it so it definitely is a drain. Personally I would re-attach it as it isn’t going to do any harm with it on, the valve at the end will still warm engine air being drawn into the filter.

It was 8pm when I was playing in the garage last night with it, the drain hose kept hitting something when trying to get the airbox back in with the silicon hose installed as there is not much flex in it compared to the stock plastic one, I got annoyed and pulled it off and the box went back in a lot easier..

My MAF is not located in that location so easy swap to silicon or other inlet hose. Your in Colombia? US spec setup maybe

That will explain why all the US tuning part sites like ECS don’t list the Mk7 GTI/R parts as fitting the Tiguan. The US spec engine setup is obviously different to ROW.

Yeah I am Colombia South America, that confirms that our engine specs are USA different from you guys and euro version.

I believe that right now my only option to replace the the Inlet and air box is the Leyo intake. I order the same turbo Inlet you got, hope it fits.

Not as yet.. The VWR intake has a sealed filter directly connected to the radiator intake, if water ingress was an issue then this setup would be the most likely to ingress water, given its made by VW i am not too concerned with my current setup causing an water ingress issue...

That looks to be the 132tsi engine setup, which I believe has the MAF located in the same spot as the MK6 Golf GTI engine.
