I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Hi everyone,

I recently signed for a MY19 Highline 162TSI with R-Line and Sound/Vision packs.

The dealer told me the car had just finished being built and was due for shipment any time now with delivery to port around the 18th of April.

They also said I’d get an email update from VW when the car was on the way, but I haven’t got anything yet. Has anyone else received a similar email?

Congrats! You got a 2019 build car!

Ask dealer for the VIN & COMM number (for yr records) & ask for the ship name when they have this info in the next few weeks (to track the ship progress)

I ordered mine in late January in Perth - highline, indium grey, r-line, sound and vision. A month later I received the autogenerated email saying it had been built, the next email is in relation to shipping - yet to come.

I was told to expect a mid-late April delivery so its a matter of waiting now. Maybe ours are on the same ship!

Nice! I did some 'reverse engineering' and it looks like you can check out WWL's routes on their website. Looks like there's two of their ships due to land in Fremantle on the 10th of April, then the 23rd of April. I guess the 18th is a dealer estimate date and will be confirmed once the car is actually loaded.

I think I missed the auto-generated email for build completion since I signed after it was built. Going by the above shipping schedules we should both get a shipment email within the next couple of weeks!

Awesome, thanks for the tip. Did you receive any automatic shipment notification from VW? Or had to manually request ship name/VIN from the dealer?

Yep. I never got any emails at all until after delivery.

Funny enough I never had access to any website they are talking about.

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I struggle to not track express parcels within Australia.

Even without a VW webpage I was refreshing the ship tracker every hour for the last 4 and a bit months.
