What I'm seeing there is that it's on the Morning Caroline and it due to be offloaded at Port Kembla on 26 December. With holidays, compliance and pre delivery that would be consistent with a mid Jan pick up date from the dealer.

Oh cheers, I was under the assumption dealer has just given a random number when I read the cargo I’d and thought the NZ in there meant it was for NZ. Thanks

Ahhh that would be confusing. Parts of the VIN translate like this - WVG is a SUV, ZZZ is Australian, 5N indicates a Tiguan and the Z is a filler digit, J is the 2018 model year indicator.

Lol makes sense now, however the sad part is even if I understand it, I am still not getting it till next year.

Been 5 days with my new 162tsi Tiguan. Non R line. Thought I'd share some thoughts as others have done.

Firstly I don't regret not getting the R line. Maybe missing the Panoramic Roof a bit but not too fussed. Even without the R the car looks fantastic. Much better in person than in pictures. I've been getting heaps of compliments on how great it looks. Another reason for the compliment is the colour. I went for Tungsten silver and it's awesome. It's like a silver with grey shades and again have received great feedback from numerous people on the colour.

As for the interior, it's definitely high quality and the digital active info display blends superbly with the full touch infotainment. It has a wow factor as soon as you look inside. Leather seats are super comfy. Ambient lighting is a great touch, adds class.

The drive itself is entertaining too. Very smooth and no body roll in turns. It's a quiet cabin that feels solid! No issues with start stop. No issues with automatic tailgate with foot movement. ACC works great. Lane assist is superb too, you barely hold the steering wheel and it helps glide the car. I haven't tested Park assist yet. Sports mode is super fun to drive, but will take it easy in the early days.

I absolutely love the LEDs and dynamic cornering lights. It's amazing on the roads. Lights up dark places really well.

Android auto and Apple carplay are also pending testing.

These are some of my first impressions and must say that the wait has been worth it!!

The Grand Hero is currently docked at Port Alexandria in South Africa, it's made it half way! I am beginning to realise a whole new level of impatience I didn't know I had looks like by the time it clears the docks at Port Kembla and reaches my dealership in the ACT it will be very close to Christmas, wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it until the first week of January.

Mine is on Grand Hero as well.
Was hoping to have it before Xmas as I have family coming over with 2 small kids and need the extra room.
I am in Canberra too, but mine is via Sydney dealer as i saved 6k.
Full Rline in ruby red.
Dealer still telling me mid January.
How long has it taken for others from boat arriving to pickup?
