Hi All,

Just curious, can anyone remember how long after you received the I'm built email from VWA that you received the VIN number for tracking?

I have, it's not available yet, hence the query on how long after the email until others have received it

Just want to get a feeling for timings from others experience.

I never received that email. I was in contact with the dealer and asked them for the VIN about 3 weeks after the car was handed over to production. They didn't have one at that point, but I chased them a week later and they were then able to give me one. Basically, the car takes about 4 weeks to get build once it is handed over to production, after which point you should be able to ask for a VIN. In my experience, I always had to ask for updates etc. I never had the dealer contact me, except when they confirmed that the car was ready to be delivered/picked up.

-Arrange the transfer of funds to the dealer. You won't be able to pick it up if the funds haven't gone through

-Make sure the car is the model you ordered. I know this sounds funny, but if you ordered DAP and a sunroof for example, just make sure the car has it.

-They should give you the registration papers (most likely inside the manual booklet).
-Enjoy yourself

That's all I can think of/remember from when I picked up mine.

I decided to buy one on Wednesday, started the novated lease process on Thursday and picked it up yesterday. 2017 Tiguan 162TSI Highline - Black, Panoramic Sunroof and DAP.

Thanks Glad, not quite sure when mine was handed over to production as I believe this is different to the production week info I did have.

Any of the other forum members who received the email Saturday have a VIN yet? there was about 3 or 4 of us.
