I showed her the R-line and she knew that was the only option, her remark was "if you don't get what you want, you will just regret it and change your mind" so all three packs on a 162 thanks ☺️ Then she wrote off her car 4 days later and got a new polo 2 days later, women always win.

Oh, and when you do get yours, you'll have to let me know how the R-Line is with the sunroof. I'm not the biggest fan of the dark interior (roof lining and pillars) that comes with the R-Line, so I'm hoping that the perforated sunblind in the sunroof will make the car feel a bit lighter and airier.

I test drove one without sunroof and found it just fine. My current car has a sunroof and have hardly used it so when I ordered one, I went without the roof for the reason why pay a premium for something you won't use much, adds a fair bit more weight to the car so will effect performance, headroom is lower and on a lessor point with a large hole in the roof ridgidity Would change and may effect handling. It wont effect resale in the future so that was my decision in the end. Sunroofs are a personal preference at the end of the day. The world is equally divided in the for and against argument but in Australia and our weather why have the sun pounding you and solar heating your car quicker.

Hi guys. I just thought I'd post this for the benefit of anyone who, like me, comes here researching delivery lead times for a new 162TSI...

I'd spoken to a few dealers and was told that I would be looking at a 6-7 month wait time if I ordered now. So I got in touch with a broker five days ago and asked if he could find a cancelled order for me. Two days later a cancellation came up that met my requirements. It's already sailing across the Indian Ocean and I'm expecting delivery mid-March.

I suspect I was very lucky and YMMV but using a broker really paid off for me.

You're right, it comes down to personal choice. I've actually never had a sunroof so it's a bit of a novelty for me. I wasn't overly phased, but the comfortline that we drove had a sunroof and my wife really liked it (and so did I). I really liked how bright and airy the car was, and when I drove the R-Line is seem to have lost that feeling because of the dark interior. I'm just hoping that a bit of extra light coming in from the sunroof might help.

Yeah mate .. same here. One of the key reasons going sun roof. Felt much more airy and lighter

Sokyola, same here, i ordered on 24 of sept, and but until now they said the ship would be at port kembla somewhere around end of Feb and i would be able to collect the car from 6th of march.

We ordered a 162tsi rline last August with expected delivery Nov/Dec 2016. Well it was unloaded from the ship yesterday and surprise, surprise I get a call from the dealer today. They want to review the trade-in because it's been more than a few months. I have the original trade-in deal in writing with no "subject to" clause but I feel there is a bit or argy-bargy coming on. Any-one else have this experience?

Well if it's not in writing then I don't think they have a leg to stand on. I'd hold your ground and counter with the fact that if they delivered the car when they said they were going to (and not 2-3 months late) then it wouldn't be a problem. Put it back on them that they're the ones who haven't met the timeline and that you'd expect to be compensated

It all depends on how hard a bargain you drove in the first place whether they are losing on the deal. If they try and draw up a new contract I wouldn't be signing it unless it's in your favour.
