    Hi all,

I am happy for you to use my name as a contact reference. I understand these car brokers deal Australia wide so I will give you both company’s details. Also they can only present what they are offered from the dealers they put the tender to, so every “deal” is independent of previous deals.

I went with Lloyd because he came in the cheapest. I was also able to "knock an extra $104 off as I went with standard plates and not Premium plates. I did this because I already have a set of personalised plates that I will be "swapping" after taking delivery.

Also with regard to your X-Trail, if you can afford to buy the Tiguan before you sell the X Trail, selling it privately will be your best option.

If not, then I suggest you explain to both brokers that you are looking for the cheapest changeover price giving them all the needed details of your XTrail.

I think you will be plesantly surpised.

To give you a guide, the 162 TSI in my signature will cost me $51,783 drive away in NSW. My previous details can be found on page 48 of this thread.

I suggest trying both as they may deal with different dealers and maybe this time Chris David may come in cheaper.

Please keep us posted on the outcome. The more we as a community know, the better "armed" we are to get the best possible price at the time.

    Good luck.

Ask your dealer for the VIN number of your car and you can track it yourself. More reliable than a meaningless generated email from VW.

Ok noted. If I get the vin I'll come back and ask how to track.

Model year cars in Germany are already built for the following year from September (which is what I remember from Porsche). The vehicle data of my 2017 Tiguan 162 R-line say "production date 2016-10-18" and "Model year 2017". The thing you're after is registration date, registration in 2016 makes it a 2016 car, registration in 2017 makes it a 2017 car. My car is arriving in the last week of December, so I wait until the new year has begun before picking it up/having it registered.

Has your dealer confirmed they will hold on the registration until January? I originally asked mine about a month ago when I found it was coming in towards the end of December and she said that VW would probably want to register them in December. I was going to press her more on it closer to it arriving as I would much rather get it registered in January.

Hi, I've clearly discussed it, as the salesperson was a bit disappointed, because he'd miss out on his 2016 bonus. Then again I'll remind him, because once it is registered, it is registered, I guess.... Thanks, John.

    Hey Rexman

Once you have it go here:

    https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?url...uickSearchPage

And stick your VIN in the cargo ID slot. You should then get shipping details.
