Some of the folks from my dealer received their cars after 2 weeks of the ship landing in PK. And this was during the Xmas/NY period with public holidays. So I think 2 weeks is expected.

The delivery date for your Oryx White VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN has changed to 22-FEB-19. The date changed because of a Transport Delay.

Just got the above delivery date notification, ok! Now I have a problem, I won't be in the country.

Update: Spoke to dealer, they are going to see what they can do to get it on the earlier side of 22nd. However I am not holding hope, I've also planted the seed that if 22nd or later is accurate, they need to start considering flat bedding the car down to Canberra for me and organising someone else (my partner, who isn't comfortable driving out of Sydney to Canberra) to be authorised to execute the paperwork.

Hmm, it’s good that at least you have an ETA date (although it’s quite fluid so not very accurate).

Did you ask what’s the cause of the transport delay (eg bc of shipping delays - Stink bugs or truck transportation issues)? If the later then we have an issue the the trucking business? I would say because of the shipping delays then the trucking industry should be under utilised?

I'm kinda in the same spot. When it finally arrives and is ready for delivery there is a good chance I'll be away for a month. Will be making sure they don't polish it up and put it on the floor for every Tom, **** and Harry to sit in and open and close every door and compartment!!

I did ask, yes, it sounds like delays at the port. The dealer said they aren't getting accurate information themselves when the car will leave the port.

They're chasing Volkswagen Australian for accurate figures, but he said Volkswagen are trying to push out a backlog of cars out of the ports.

I take this as a trucking issue, maybe there just isn't enough capacity of whatever trucking carrier they are using and can't get any more car carries on such sort notice. I imagine a bunch of trucks are doing round trips from Port Kemble and Sydney.

Hmm, I fail to see how there can be a backlog of cars in PK since all the ships are delayed or stuck elsewhere getting treatment and no cars arriving at all. so I’m picturing the car depot in PK to be pretty empty if you ask me.....I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

If it’s a trucking issue then VW logistics has failed their job by not preplanning the truck companies. It’s not like ships just suddenly appear at a port and the folks at VW acting surprised. A ships’ maximum speed is in the low 30kmph (I can walk faster than that)....ok maybe I can’t walk that fast but you get the message.....

I’m not sure. But I’m not happy, 4 ETAs have come and gone for me.

Given it’s in port, you’d hope the ETA of 22nd is worst case. If I was in the dealers shoes, I’d be setting an expectation at this stage that I know I can beat.

If my slides past 22nd, they’re paying to truck it to Canberra. My sale of contract had amendments agreeded to including delivery dates. So I have a leg to stand on.

Hi, any suggestion for new car pain protection detailing services around Melbourne?
I'm leaning towards Final Inspection auto boutique, but need some options.
    Cheers

Depends on what product you want applied I guess. I’ve used final inspection before however this time I went MR Detail in Moorabbin for Gyeon Duraflex ! That was my personal preference anyway !
