How do I pull the steering wheel buttons off?

My PLUS+ button is stuck - I suspect it needs a clean underneath as I can feel it sticking.

Does anyone know how to pull it off without damaging it? Is it possible?

Maybe try getting an aerosol of contact cleaner which is for cleaning electrical contacts it might do the job without having to remove it

This would be my first suggestion. Otherwise I think you have to pull the airbag out to remove the button assembly but not sure even this is going to allow you to get behind the +

Yep need to remove airbag before you can pull the button assemblies out.

Do you know how you can access under the buttons if one is sticky? I’m not sure if removing them is going to give you any more access??

Once you have the button assemblies out of the wheel (they are just held in by rubber interference mounts, easiest to take the wheel right off so you can easily access them and move around)
I've not dismantled the buttons (only replaced them) but I would think you could carefully open them up and clean up the button mechanisms (microswitch and rubber parts, possibly a spring)

Thanks - tried that last week, fixed it got a while and came back.

It's now 'clicking' like something in there is loose or snapped off.

I was hoping it could be pulled off - but seems not. Warranty job then.

Definitely if it’s under warranty I’d get VW to fix it. Though depending on how annoying it is and how far away friends m end of warranty you are I’d get a few issues to fix/look at together to save too many trips to the dealer.
