yes the arrows rows indicate where the clips are located. If you push the trim removal tool in to the gap you will be able to feel the location of the clips. Once you have located them use the trim removal tool to pop them out.

The only thing to note with the Autoinstruct tutorial I found when removing the a pillar trim there are 2 Xmas tree clips that you remove (not 1 as indicated). Aside from that it is a fairly simple job.
You dont need to remove the trims at all Take the wire along the edge of the dash to the windscreen and then using a trim tool push it between the screen and the trim then along roof trim to the centre. A piece of advice START AT THE CAMERA AND WORK BACK or you might have a bunch left over at the top.

Any screw that you can get an earth is ok Just use a meter between the screw and something like a door hinge to make sure the screw is actually earthed

I ran into this issue a week ago, Fuse Tap will not work on this vehicle.
I end up taking the power + ground from the accessory outlet wiring:

I splice the cables going to the 12V auxiliary power outlet ( Same connection I used for my radar detector)
the brown wire is the negative, Green with Red is the positive. Always check voltage with Multiplier

That's what I thought until I try it on my Tiguan.... the position of the cable on the fuse tap was preventing insertion on the one I wanted to use, I try a different one for the small fuse, it keep coming loose... the fact that the fuse box is in front of the driver side storage compartment don't make things easier either (fuse tab cable can rub against door).

You can use mini taps in Micro fuses. Had to do it in my Sons Fiesta and if it doesnt fit one way just turn it around the other way

Its not recommended but will still work ,only difference is that the voltage goes through the original fuse and then back to the camera.

Far better than splicing into circuits on a VW as it can shut them down if computer senses incorrect values in a circuit.

You do realise there are 3 different size fuses Standard mini and micro The spacings on mni and micro are the same as I found after i bought some micro taps and had a hell of a job trying to insert it Had put a mini in temporarily and ended up just using that. 2 months later still working OK

I order all 3 sizes.. didn't work for me.. mini tabs vibrate loose turning off my radar detector randomly (possible bad quality tabs).

So I waited until I got all the parts for a modification I made to the car (Auto Disable engine stop-start system) end it up taking the power directly from the accessory 12v
