Hi folks,
Planning to hook up Cellink Neo battery pack that powers the dashcam by hardwiring to the fuse box. Will this void warranty?
Or should i just stick to using the cigarette lighter socket?

Definitely hard wire it. It should have no effect on warranty as long as it's done correctly. I'd make sure you put it on it's own new fuse if at all possible to reduce any future troubles too. It also makes it easy to disconnect, should you ever need to, by just pulling that one fuse out.
If it caused a short or if you broke trim pieces having it put in, then those things would not be covered. Otherwise you should be just fine.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit
Hi jolv,
I chose the easy way. I used the boot power socket. See attached images. It is fully reversible and works perfectly.

Whatever you do DONT STICK WIRES DOWN THE SIDE OF FUSES
Get one of these They come in standard and Mini fuse sizes. The mini also fits in a Micro socket
Put original fuse in the bottom one and whatever your battery needs in the top one
Meter the fuse socket to see which side has power on it an fit it as shown

thanks folks!
I've been looking at youtube more about hardwiring and now know that thing i need is called a Piggyback fuse Guess I'll just now need a multimeter to test for the 12V input so i dont get it the other way around.
Too bad the official handbook does not exactly tell you what those fuses are.

does anybody know how to open the side panel shown in the picture below? the guide did not exactly say how and I've not removed any trims before.
All I got is this 1 trim removal tool, do I just push the tool in to where the clips are and pull the trim out?
I'm following this guide I found: Dash Cam Install Tutorial – Volkswagen MK2 Tiguan – AutoInstruct

Hi Jolv,
yes the arrows rows indicate where the clips are located. If you push the trim removal tool in to the gap you will be able to feel the location of the clips. Once you have located them use the trim removal tool to pop them out.
The only thing to note with the Autoinstruct tutorial I found when removing the a pillar trim there are 2 Xmas tree clips that you remove (not 1 as indicated). Aside from that it is a fairly simple job.
