LOL you are a rare breed in Australia.

Too many owners are worried about buying overpriced paint protection or trying to drag off sports cars instead of just trying to look good.

Still one of the top handful world wide.

I bet he self-polishes and isn't worried about stage 1 times.

Yes I think this rim really suits the Tiguan. But I do agree that to pull it off you really need to run at low ride height.

This car has gone from one extreme to the other.

What, spend 5% of the value of your car for a coat?

I trust your timing to be more realistic then some other claims.

    Agreed on both fronts.

Mr Versatile also scores the cleaner front end.

It’s definitely on a future shortlist although the missus is also eyeing off dual cab numpty status while I want to see more of the new Toe-rag (the five pot ain’t going anywhere).

I find the whole wheel thing a bit hard to understand, I wonder if it is change for change sake or what. When the new wheel is chosen let's hypothetically say the car had come from VW with that same wheel would the owner change it because it did not look good enough?

Wheels for cars is like shoes for women. There should be no justification needed for having multiple sets of wheels. They are like an accessory and can dress up or dress down a car.

Some people like to put a personal touch to their car and a set of wheels is a good way to do that.

It can be change for changes sake, or it can be to rectify hideous mistakes in VW design. The days of VW churning out some of the best stock wheels in the business is long gone.

The first thing I'd do with a Tiguan is ditch those horrid Suzukas and put on something better. Of course the smart money is on the Sportline, where you got to lose the heavy and messy front bar and scored Kapstadts which are a good looking wheel.

Obviously there are also big handling benefits in dropping weight, although that may be more geared towards us smaller car guys.

But yes, if I was in the Tiguan market and had bought an R Line I'd be desperate to swap into something nicer - ideally the 20" five spoke Europe runs or the Kapstadt as an OEM option, or any quality reputable branded wheel.

And no, getting them gloss black from the factory with a cheap badge stuck on the back, would not change my mind.

A bit lower and some front tints and this is a nice clean upgrade, OEM feel courtesy of the Audi style wheels.
