Help please megatronic failure

After more than 1 month after getting the car tested they have come back to me and declind my goodwill claim mind you this has been going on for 4 months now they didn't even have the decency to ring bunch of idiots they are i will be taking this further now. Is anyone in the same situation as i will be going to a current affair and probably a lawers for class action. Car is 2018 model extended warranty ran out last year in july 80.000ks always serviced at vw fairfield but ladt srrvice was done at volkshome due to me needing to go overseas and they couldn't fit me in time. This was there response.

Option a) second hand gearbox, could happen again at any time
Option b) get pineappled by Vw and buy genuine from them at $3600 plus labour
Option c) go to a Vw specialist and get them to fit a new mechatronic unit, approximately $3500 fitted and programmed
Option d) contact accc let them waffle on and hope Vw Australia changes their mind.
I went option c with my Jetta, but it was way out of warranty at 20 years old and 125,000 klms. Apparently that’s about the normal mileage for a mechatronic to fail. Seems like **** to me but common enough.

You have to laugh at the "Service Consultant" asking for a positive review, when the process took months and was totally abysmal by Boomer (me) standards, but probably par for the course with Gen(any).

However, failure of any component outside warranty, while painful, is something all of us have had to live with from time to time, only avoidable if you change cars before warranty is out.

Having said that, the cost of a mechatronics is actually relatively inexpensive - a few years ago RAV4 gerboxes were failing due to a defect and the dealer cost was around $9000.

The name Mechatronic is a bit mystically expensive sounding, but it's just a common everyday valve body which is found in all auto boxes.
