Not in the UK, In fact far from it. Look at the complete Tiguan range, not a single petrol version

Here in Australia it's a different market, with more petrol Tiguan's then diesel so maybe the petrols here will have better aftermarket value, time will tell I guess.

It's interesting why they are pushing so many diesels. Coming from the UK and owning a diesel there myself the car tax was lower (based on C02 emmitions) or at least it was until 2013 before I left to come here.
Maybe this is post dieselgate too, probably lots of stock diesels to shift. I didn't know they were banning diesels?

I considered a diesel Mercedes GLC (used) before settling on the Tiguan.
Pretty much all the dealer demos for sale were diesels. The petrols were selling fast, but diesels were harder to shift
Definitely better mileage with diesel, but we seem to be shifting away except for larger 4WDs where there’s still a strong bent for diesel for torque and economy
