Your not wrong the Tig is definitely more thirsty. On a long decent run it was not uncommon to get 1100k to tank. Makes me wonder if I should of stuck with a diesel.

Nah, diesel is very different now and many countries are moving away from it due to the increased health impacts etc.

Personally I have also found that most people are not buying diesel as well and am now seeing petrol holding value better than diesel Tig's

Which petrol make/model holds value better than equivalent diesel? Don’t trust in everything what you read or hear in media.

Not in the UK, In fact far from it. Look at the complete Tiguan range, not a single petrol version

Tiguan Models - Pricing & Specifications : Volkswagen UK

Here in Australia it's a different market, with more petrol Tiguan's then diesel so maybe the petrols here will have better aftermarket value, time will tell I guess.

Diesel is declining globally, article below highlight Porsche exiting the diesel market due to this.

Porsche drops diesel engines, switches to hybrid and electric power for alternative energy

Also, if you click through to build your own there is definitely more TDI engines available to order however petrol is an option on the RLine.

Maybe they are trying to push diesel before it is banned in the UK.

It's interesting why they are pushing so many diesels. Coming from the UK and owning a diesel there myself the car tax was lower (based on C02 emmitions) or at least it was until 2013 before I left to come here.

Maybe this is post dieselgate too, probably lots of stock diesels to shift Which Fuel. I didn't know they were banning diesels?
