When I switch off Traction Control, I get a message on screen that Front Assist Braking is disabled.
Turning TC back on fixes the error.
I don't see how the two systems are directly linked, but guess there might be a dependency on ABS for both?
I don't find a reference to this in the manual.
Can anyone else confirm this issue?
Cheers!

Interesting - thanks for confirming it.
Morale of the story; switch TC off to have a bit of fun, you gotta expect a bit of risk.
Probably one of the reasons why VW deleted the button on MY18.5.
Speaking of hooning... anyone tried a handbrake turn with the electric handbrake?
Not that I’ll probably ever try, but hey, it would be nice to know.
Funnily enough a colleague attempted to engage the e-brake in his company Passat on the last day he had the vehicle at 80k/pH and he reported that it wouldn't engage. He did mention upto 30 it would work..
I also believe it will disengage when it detects acceleration as that's what happens when stationary. You don't have to push it to disengage
Haha I’ve been wondering about this as well, guess you’ll just have to rely on the speed/inertia movement on loose surfaces if you want to get a bit loose
