I’ve had the emergency brake come on a couple of times reversing out of the drive...
As for going forward I’ve had the alert come up a couple of times after accelerating past a turning car... no brakes applied

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find too much on the subject in the forum.
Does any one know if there is a set distance for say early detection when front assist is activated?
Is there any way of safely testing the system ?
Does City Emergency Braking work if vehicle in front is stationary? I know ACC does not pick up stationary vehicles.
With early detection set I have been unable to even get the red alert to come up even though I have been coming up on my mates car way too fast, with his permission, and not braking until very close, yet yesterday out of the blue the red warning lamp came on with nothing in front of me.
I have enquired at the dealership but they don't have a lot of info because they say it is all new to them.
The dealership thinks that if you have throttle control the system thinks the driver is in control so will not activate but I have tried it with both foot on and off the accelerator with no alert leave alone braking.

Had my Tig for two weeks and have had the sensors go off 2 times.. once reversing into my garage where all brakes locked up... And the second was changing lanes (aggressively) when someone was being a **** and remaining in my blind spot whilst the car in front was blocking me (I regret nothing).
I have also had the sensors go off when using ACC and felt like the car was not slowing down quick enough to the car in front..
I guess if you never have to find out if they work then that may not be a bad thing. Let's just hope they do when you need them.
YouTube an interesting video of it working around 2 mins in

Hi Grugly, if you are concerned that your emergency braking isn’t working, you could go to the dealership to check your sensor/radar calibration. My understanding is that the sensors/radar may need to be recalibrated if you’ve had small bump or for what ever reason they’re out of alignment. There is special equipment at the dealer that can calibrate this. I’ve found front assist braking quite sensitive in multi level car parks and have turned this off when ever I’m driving in there.
Out of curiosity, is there a button to turn this feature off?

I am off to the dealership tomorrow for the 1000km checkup (only done 800km) I have had numerous false positives with the Front Assist system where there has been no imminent issue. I have also had an aggressive braking intervention for no apparent reason when changing lanes to a right hand turning lane. Nearly got rear ended!
Funny, but when I drove vehicle out of showroom, there was an error message 'FrontAssist error'. They supposedly rectified issue then and there but it seems otherwise!

I’ve had my Tig for a couple of months now, and seen 3 warnings appear for what l would call legitimate reasons during normal driving. From memory, only one of those, did it actually apply braking.
I’ve also had it suddenly lock the brakes while I was reversing into my parking spot. That was “slightly unexpected” to say the least. More like “WTF!”
It hasn’t happened since though.

There has been a large number of owners in the UK affected by this problem, far more than here.
After going to the dealer for my 1000km checkup, I had system checked again. No fault found. After speaking with the service manager about the system, I believe I may have unrealistic expectations of the system after his detailed explanation. He did say that the system is not perfect and as it is a passive system, it takes many variables of input for system to activate - too many to try and replicate and test it.
i am happy with his explanation and as it is my first vehicle with this system, I will monitor it. I guess if the system gives me the odd false positive, it’s better than nothing at all.
