Factory vs dealer fitted towbar

A bit concerning is the warning to not install this kit on a 7 seater Allspace. I'm wondering if this is simply a warning to not tow anything when anyone are in the rear seats, or if there's another kit for the 7 seater Allspace?

Is your bar the same part number?
I have the instruction to fit 5NA092136 bar. it looks a little different. Shorter arms that connect to the subframe.
5NA092136 Installation Its listed as a part number for Tiguan Allspace 5N 2018- and Tiguan AD1 2016-


Interestingly. On the us parts website Trailer hitch kit lists part number 5NN092135 as the 5/7 seat models. nad 5NA09135 as for 5 seaters only. (I think USA had LWB 5 and 7 seaters).

Yes your instructions fit mine exactly! It also shows the bolts, nuts and washers. I guess I need to get some extra from a VW dealer.

I doubt you need to go to a VW dealer to pickup some washers. Mitre 10 or Bunning would be easier and cheaper

Yes. but it is a relatively easy job. Just take photos before you pull plugs and cables out and see how the seat sensor cables are routed before disconnecting.
You will need to do the CAN-BUS connection under the steering wheel as well.

Got the wiring harness in. Getting the seats out made all the difference. There's a lot of clips behind that panel.

Just started looking at getting a VW tow bar fitted to my Tiguan 162 Allspace and found 5NA092136 to be the part. Looking to buy this second hand.

Would anyone know if I would need to buy an additional wiring harness from VW?

Looks similar to one I fitted to my 2017 R-Line which included the wiring loom as shown in the diagram - my part number (still have the box) was 5NA055202B - I am aware there were many variants and from memory it was discontinued early 2020 so no idea what happened after that. I do remember connecting the wiring block behind the dash on the drivers side (states the glove box for LH drive versions) and then drove to my dealer and they coded it...have never had any issues since - HTH

I can't find 5NA055202B online.. Was this your wiring harness/module?

The towbar kit only comes with the plug harness, not the module to connect to the cars BCM or go to the dash area
