You can tell the CAN wires are coloured (orange with a colour band = CAN H) (orange with a brown band = CAN L)
I have successfully connected directly to the seat module using this female OBD connector:

This is probably well known be experienced members here, but I had to select the seat module directly under Select Control Module.

    This is my initial scan:

Under Basic Settings, there are 3 options:

    1. IDE02325-MAS00675-Reset to factory setting
    2. IDE02854-MAS00675-Reset standardization
    3. MAS05563-MAS00675-Norming

I am reluctant to perform reset to factory settings as I've read other people having headaches when doing this.

I have performed IDE02854-MAS00675-Reset standardization on all seat motors successfully.

When I first tried MAS05563-MAS00675-Norming, I got the following error: ERROR: Vehicle speed too high. This was easily fixed by going to Adaptations and changing ENG123066-vehicle_velocity_monitoring from active to not active. Now when I try Norming, I get the following error: ERROR: Conditions not correct or request sequence error.

When I go into Output Tests and try each option to manually operate the motors, I get the following errors:

I should have mentioned you needed to select the module when you don't have a gateway in the mix.

Check the advance measuring values; my guess is the seat is missing a signal it wants from the rest of the car before enabling the motors, just like you had with the speed too high warning.

At least you know the controller is good.

I purchased another set of seats yesterday from another wreckers, both full electric with memory and the R-Line emblem.

From here on, I will refer to them as:

Seat 1: The seat I have working with so far. From Tiguan 1. Appears to be the same as R-Line just no emblem or white stitching. Full electric with memory buttons.

Seat 2: The drivers seat from Tiguan 2. R-Line emblem, white stitching full electric with memory buttons.

Seat 3: The passenger seat from Tiguan 2. R-Line emblem, white stitching full electric with memory buttons.

I have compared the advanced measuring values between Seat 1, Seat 2 & Seat 3. The only difference in advanced measuring values I have found is this:

    Seat 1:
IDE01457 Energy management deactivation stage Deactivation stage 3
    Seat 2:
IDE01457 Energy management deactivation stage Deactivation stage 0
    Seat 3:

Seat 3 I have not operated any of the buttons yet. No faults present.

Edit: I have operated Seat 3 (except for the memory buttons) and still no fault codes. I have noticed an extra option under Basic Settings that is not on Seat 1 & Seat 2:

No wonder I am getting faults still...the module has, for some reason decided that the maximum and minimum travel values are the same. Not to mentioned the supposed current position of all the motors is exactly the same down to 1 step accuracy and outside the max/min range.

Any idea on how to correct this? I've tried numerous attempts of IDE02854-MAS00675-Reset standardization & MAS05563-MAS00675-Norming. Reset standardization passes instantly and Norming comes back with the following error: ERROR: Conditions not correct or request sequence error.

I didn't realize that you upgrading original Tiguan seat to Different car.
Unfortunately your problem is not with wiring even if you connect all correct wires, you will still have problem . That seat is programmed to Specific VIN in Tiguan, as soon you connect to different Car VIN ( it read from car Gateway Vin than compare VIn stored in Seat control module) , it stop working. You need VW dealer or someone with original VW tool to program and flash module to suit your new VIN and car model.

@cameleon72 I am planning to simply wire up power and air bag only to my Amarok as like you said I will run into issues with different components. There's not really any good reason to wire it up to my Amarok other than power and airbag, as the seat can operate independently I believe. I have been bench testing successfully except for memory buttons.

See page 1 for my Amarok info in the auto scan.

From what ive read, my understanding is that the seat module stores these settings.
