Yep the dsg can be jerky in low gears remember its a computer controlled manual gearbox not a automatic gearbox which has a fluid coupling between flywheel and the gearbox itself (torque converter) they will always be smoother than a dsg
The dsg came about because you get worse fuel economy with the auto box the fluid coupling robs power and increases fuel use that is the main reason for going dsg
It's not perfect but you soon get used to it i have the dq381 wet 7 speed in my car and its very good better than the dq250 6 speed wet i used to have in my mark 6
The wife has a dry 7 speed dq200 in her new 7.5 and it is good but i notice it is a little more jerky than mine i think the wet clutch system is better at smoothing out the jerks
