    Diesel fuel consumption, user results

Everyone knows that manufacturers numbers are not ‘real world’ relevant.

I thought it’s be good to see what people are getting.

    Me.

    140tdi allspace

    Urban- 7-12 l/100 (avg speed of 35-20kph)
    Highway 5.9-6.6 (100-110kph- gps)

I always run high tyre pressures (economy and tyre life vs comfort and ultimate grip) and drive normally. Not like a granny, but not an idiot either.

our 110TDI comfortline averages mid 5l to low 6l for shorter trips ( we live 12k out of town so it's not city driving). long highway runs are usually low 5l , one 333km trip averaged 4.9l/100 and the return trip 5.1l/100. My wife is the usual driver and she sits on speed limit I don't get to drive it very often.

If you calculate it from the trip meter, which I guess you probably did, then it’s less accurate than when calculated from the fuel docket.
    Good hiway economy regardless.

Yeah if I use the fuel docket and the actual distance travelled it gets worse and then worse again(as it’s more fuel used for less kms actually travelled). Though that’s the same for most cars.

I’m jealous of the other numbers already!

I’ve got crap power and crap economy from mine. But at least it slips second gear like a sick, dying automatic transmission and holds the gears too long in each of the first 3 gears...

My average is 7.3 ltr/100k for a all wheel drive alltrack at 165kw/480nm so impressed!
Long highway travel is about 5.8ltr/100 just cruising with acc on
All calculated with fuel dockets/speedo reading

I am most impressed with the ea288 diesel motor hoping to get 300,000klm out of it in the next 10 years or so
