Cable sticking out near the gas pedal

I noticed some kind of electrical cable is sticking out from underneath the driver side compartment, to the right of the gas pedal. It looks like it's supposed to be plugged into something. The problem is, I don't know what it's for and where it's supposed to go. I haven't noticed anything different while driving the car.

Does anyone know what this is and where it's supposed to go?

It's the OBD connector for diagnostics. It's supposed to be clipped up under the dash out of the way.

Thanks for that! At least I know that it's not supposed to be plugged into something inside the car.

I can't find the location of where it's supposed be clipped on so I just placed it somewhere hidden.

It is common to pop up from the car plastic holder ( close to small drawer) accidently you accidently push it with your foot . You just need to slide it back in the plastic, looking your picture just 10cm over the connecter on top .Take flashlight and just look down you will find plastic where it should slide in nicely .
