Yes CTS and correct in not needing the resonator. Yes in Australia.

I have had custom made dump's and exhausts made on my R33 GTR and Hilux Surf in the past. The GTR was mainly a track car so sound was not an issue.

There is a lot of r&d companies like CTS do when developing downpipes and other components.

    Cheers.

I'm in the same boat, have built dump's for my Supra and for my 180sx. Both took a few goes to get exactly what I wanted, mainly around the wastegate piping. Being that the Tigs turbo has the gate built into the turbine housing that is not a issue.

I understand that these companies do r&d with development of their components. In saying that its just trail and error.. The downpipe on the tig is a straight forward set up, primary goal is to improve the flow of the exhaust gasses exiting the turbine. Building a larger diameter downpipe that follows a similar path to the factory downpipe won't raise to many issues. I also want to get rid of the slip joint as they leak and i prefer v bands. If i can get a second hand tig or golf r down pipe than we will be in business.

I look forward to seeing your progress and stage 2 power figures.

If you really wanted to, which I had a thought about doing, is getting a CTS dump then taking that to a decent exhaust shop and have it replicated..... a few times for other tig owners... But I don't want to step on suppliers toes.

Ahh yep. I am going to the exhaust shop on Friday arvo, so we can sus out if an how we can build a downpipe. If it looks like it will be to big of a task and costs may explode then Ill just order the CTS downpipe and modify the slip joint to a v band.

So after much discussion with the exhaust shop, it has been decided that we wont build the downpipe it will end up costing me to much.
I have three options I have narrowed it down to, the CTS stainless, 034Motorsports cast stainless option and finally the Empire performance mr7 golf r option (once it is released).
Will wait and see what some other members choices produce.
I have orded the 034 dogbone mount and GFB Diverter Valve will cover the install on them when they rock up.
Also looking at the cts turbo outlet pipe kit, I don't care much for the factory plastic and rubber pipework. Has anyone fitted this kit?

Back to the Burger motorsport intake and muffler delete kit, It has been on for just over a week, and has done roughly 500ks. All looks correct, no signs of leaks or movement. Will be driving the Tig to Brisbane and back from Toowoomba tomorrow, a good 350ks.
Waiting to hear back on a custom tune from Marsanic Motorsports along with a DSG tune. Will update as I go.

Sweet as, are you fitting it yourself? Will be interested in seeing the quality and power figures.

While you guys are messing with air boxes, cut the blanking panel out. Link below

Also, JB4 is best bang for buck you can get if you want to keep your warranty, Any Tune will give you a TD1 flag.
Ive seen over 200kw at the wheels on GTIs with some basic mods.

Ive done the CTS TMD, Inlet pipe, IC pipes and Down pipe, it all helps.
Just remember you will get the Check engine light with most Downpipes, this can be removed with a tune (but TD1) so beware if you do get a Down pipe, you'll get that every so often, so have a OBD tool to clear it, and youll be fine.

JB4 vs tune on same car, was 20 odd kw, and that extra 20kw was at the top end, where the tune added fuel and timing (JB4 cant do that as its a piggy back). JB4 is not like piggy back systems of old, it has some real smarts and are now in the Kia and Honda market. They started with BMW back in the day, then moved to VW models in 2016.

Fitted 2 Downpipes in driveway with stands, its not to bad once you find a good "how to"

Have seen cars with JB4's dyno graphs very wavey at the top end, as you said it cannot control everything like a custom tune can.

I had surging, smokey exhaust and other strange things on my R with GIAC generic tune, no such issues with current custom tune on the tig.
