Oh yea, Pros and cons to all tuning options, need to understand what you want as an end result.
I've found the JB4 is a great starting point while you learn and add mods, once your at your end game, go get a full custom and you'll gain a bit more, ie 208 to over 220kw on a gti.
A full custom tune is the way to go
Wavey? in what power? yea it cant control fuel and timming, so a poorly "tuned" JB4 will prob show that. need to "tune" it to the cars OEM limits to a point. tuning a JB4 is easy as making a boost curve and then data logging the AFR and fuel / timming (built in logging).
Just looking at my Dyno graphs now, Its wavey in the power in the preset maps, which is adding boost to stock boost levels, in the custom maps Ive made, smooth as.
You FWD or AWD Inasnt?
If FWD, I got 170kw at the wheels with 4.5psi added to stock boost, and 176kw with 5psi added.
More graph and info in my timeline below mate, some interesting reading if you have some time.
Yea I know what you mean, looking over them now. I wont lose sleep over it lol.
Its a good start if people are worried about warranty...
