    A Bit of Off Roading

This is interesting seeing it only had road tyres on the car but I wonder how the clutch pack would stand up to this in a DSG box.

Mine did great in the small sand dunes and sandy tracks of coffin bay national park. Spent maybe 5-6hrs there. So lots of slow speed stuff and strain on the driveline. It didn’t make the gearbox any worse than it already was/is.

I have a thread with a video in this forum somewhere.

I can understand why travelling above the speed where the clutch would be slipping there shouldn't be a problem but he is travelling at a speed where the clutch would not be fully engaged @ 2MPH. I thought where he took it was fairly impressive as I had no idea of how capable the system was. I have taken two wheel drive cars to worse places than other "off road" demos I have seen.

In my case there was lots of slow speed driving. I was very cautious of the (lack of) ground clearance and wheel articulation and had to place the car carefully (and slowly)

1st gear and it’s clutch got a very solid workout.

That video in the original post is barely off road. I had my R53 Cooper S on worse roads.
