    Nice work!

There was some pretty soft sand - particularly where you pulled over to let the other car past.

What’s the ground clearance on the Tiguan? Did you get any extra lift fitting the AT tyres?

It looked pretty damned competent to me, nearly as good as the camera operator!

I got tyres that matches the circumference of the standard tyres- as close as possible. 225/65/17. I think they’re 1-2mm wider. So not real benefit. Plus I lowered the pressure to 14psi, lowering the car a cm or so.

I think 200mm is the factory clearance. The rear exhaust components, appear to be the lowest points.

On the return trips, there were no signs of the car rubbing its underside on the raised humps in between the wheel tracks, either. The bumper bar(s) are the only things that touched dirt. And only one of those was truly the cars ‘fault’ the other times were the speed I hit them at- necessary, that caused the scoopage/scrape.

I think once the car has had a semi-pro detail, it’ll have little/no witness marks. Except for the underside plastics(light scratches from weeds and sticks)

On watching the video back, my wife did a great job of keeping it pointing out the window. The iPhone does have an auto stabiliser, which helps too

Thanks, I just looked it up

    Tiguan Allspace is 201mm
My B7 Passat was only 165mm
    B8 Passat I have now is 175mm

My B7 ran AT tyres that were larger than standard but still legal (for nsw) and got me an extra 20mm Rise measured at the guards.
The Tiguan seemed very well equipped to handle what you drove through, I think I’d still need further lift to try beach access on soft sand. Hard pack would be ok but you often have to cross deep stuff to get there.

Excellent bit of video and camera woman work.

Looks like you had a good time too.
