Wow, some people put themselves through a whole lot of heartache over what is the equivalent of a few tanks of fuel.

‘Heartache’ is often the catalyst for improvement and innovation in the human world.

We could have sit on our hands at any and all points in our history and never tried to improve things, and just live the crude lifestyles of 10000, 5000, 1000, 500, 200, etc years ago.

If anyone is happy with mediocrity, that’s fine, but it’s not fine to belittle people who want things to be better- unless they are actually harming you and your loved ones in the process.

Just out of curiosity, what brand of batteries do people have in their 2nd gen Tiguans.

I bought mine just after the new model was released here in late 2016, and it’s a 132TSI Comfortline with the Lux package, and it has a BANNER brand ( never heard of it ) cranking battery, made in Austria.

    who is belittling people?

what are you trying to improve? Are you investing in new battery tech research or something?

being an Internet forum, all kinds of posts and replies get submitted. If you don’t like a post, you can always ignore it - the choice is yours. For my part, I like to take part in discussions and offer my perspective on them. If that doesn’t suit you, I have only one thing to say - tough luck really.

Poverty Spec 162 Sportline 2018 has the same message and then shuts off ignition when it S/S and the park brake is up.

Repco is currently holding a 40% off battery sale, Supercharge Gold batteries are fantastic.
All our daily cars have had them in the past and I always replace the in-law's car battery with Supercharge batteries.

I know there are some purists that don't want ling long dim sum parts on their car, but that's your prerogative.

Thx DPS good to know for y18 sportline .
BTW. I would stay away from any China rebrand battery's sold in Repco or Supercheap as Ozi made( yeh right rebadged with stickers only produced here ) .
Even the best one most expensive noted as ultra High performance with 36 mt. warranty ( they recently reduced to maximum 24m warranty in Repco probably with many warranty claim exchange included done by myself 2x time) are barely to withstand 2 year even in golf 4 where original Bosch Battery Lasted 8 year!
I would recommended Bosh or VARTA but original from places which can be confirmed and with valid manufactures , there is also some other good words about OEM MLLA Made in Germany, however didn't had long term experience only short to measured claimed capacity and was fully as stated even better than on sticker capacity AH.
Even sold at VW dealer Varta is not much more expensive than buying knock off ,running on even mid term will pay off and most importantly will not give you problems.
