Did you have to lock/unlock the car both times to reset the stop/start?
Did you try putting it in park and restarting it?
Hiya,
I have a Tiguan adventure 2018. When the car is switched OFF by Auto stop/start, it didn't switch ON automatically. And then "please switch ON manually" appeared on the display. I couldn't switch it ON manually and I stuck in an intersection. Then I got off from the car and locked it then reopen it. Finally I could switch it ON. It happened two times.
Is there anybody has had this issue? What's the problem for?
Cheers

Yes, I put it in park and the pressed the start button. I didn't know how to reset Auro stop/start. So I did lock/unlock the car to reset the system.
Do I need to show it to a VW service?
It's under warranty so definately something I'd be asking the dealer about at your next service if you can wait that long (or book it in earlier if you can't).
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit
